Planning Commission

The Wahoo Planning Commission is a board of nine citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council to carry out planning and zoning activities for the City of Wahoo and its one-mile extraterritorial jurisdiction. Regular meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 605 North Broadway, Wahoo, Nebraska. Entrance to the meeting is on the southwest corner of City Hall.

Notice of regular and special meetings are posted on the bulletin board of the City Hall, Post Office, and First Bank of Nebraska at least 24 hours before the meeting.  All Planning Commission meetings are open to the public and the agenda shall be available for public inspection at the office of the Zoning Administrator, City Hall, 605 North Broadway, Wahoo, Nebraska during regular business hours.

The Planning Commission holds public hearings and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Regulations, and Subdivision Regulations, including applications for Conditional Use and change of Zoning. The Commission also reviews subdivision applications and preliminary and final plats of new subdivisions. The City Council, the governing body, reviews the reports and recommendations of the Planning Commission and makes final determination.

Board members are appointed for three-year terms.  Current members of the Wahoo Planning Commission are:

Any resident of Wahoo or of the 1-mile ETJ who is interested in serving on the Planning Commission should submit their name and contact info at City Hall. Planning Commission members are appointed by the Mayor.
