POWER PLANT MECHANIC/OPERATOR-SUPERVISOR PREP & SUCCESSOR PATH
The City of Wahoo is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Power Plant Mechanic/Operator (Supervisor Preparation & Successor Path)
This role offers a unique opportunity to not only contribute to the operation and maintenance of our power plant but also to prepare for a future supervisory position. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership potential, and a commitment to excellence.
This position is responsible for assisting with various activities associated with the city’s power plant to ensure the continuation of service for all customers in the power district. An incumbent will be required to perform duties on an on-call and shift basis, as needed.
A qualified applicant must have a High school diploma or equivalent required. Must posses a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain a CDL of needed. May also be asked to obtain an NPPD substation switch man certificate. Knowledge of construction, assembly, adjustment maintenance, operation and repair of a diversified diesel powered electrical generating plant. Skills and techniques used in gas and arc welding and mechanical diagnostics. Techniques and skills used in routine repairs on power plant diesel equipment and hydraulic systems. Ability to utilize hand and power tools necessary to perform repairs.
Power Plant Mechanic/Operator current pay scale is from $29.72 to $38.64 per hour (9 steps).
